Playtech deals with Warner Bros after signing a multi-year licensing deal with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Entertainment.
Due to the fact that Playtech deals with Warner Bros, the popular casino software provider will be able to develop four iconic DC Comics branded film and television properties into leading omni-channel casino games.
The new action-packed real-money casino games are going to begin rolling out this year.
The four titles include the DC Comics 1960’s Batman Classic TV Series, as well as Warner Bros. Pictures’ feature films, Man of Steel (2013), Green Lantern (2011), and Superman I (1978) and Superman II (1980).
Meaning, Superman fans will get at least four different Superman-themed slots, and there will also be at least one Green Lantern slot game. Some players will be disaapointed with the absence of other popular DC Comics characters such as Batman, Flash, Wonder Woman and Aquaman. But the foundation is definitely laid for development of slot games based on these characters in the future.
All of Playtech’s global content studios have been started to work on, design, create and deploy games based on these coveted properties from DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Consumer Products.
Playtech is already the licenee of hugely popular Marvel comics and their 16 Marvel slots are among the most popular slots ever made, and definitely the most popular group of slots, so it’s of little surprise that Playtech wanted to take it further. The DC Comics licence is a huge win for this slot game developer.
If the titles prove to be successful, Playtech will be more frequently than ever called the best slot game developer on the market.
Mor Weizer, CEO, Playtech:
“Playtech’s best performing in-house and premium branded casino slot content will be further strengthened through our partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and the launch of the DC Comics branded games. Our licensees will benefit from the best omni-channel gaming content the market has to offer.”
“We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and are all very excited to see the outcome of the DC Comics-themed games when they are delivered later this year.”
